Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga From A Specialist - Available Wherever You Are

Pregnancy affects your body in ways that most yoga classes are not able to address adequately. Throughout pregnancy, relaxin (the hormone responsible for relaxing ligaments) creates more space for your growing baby. As the uterus expands, the diaphragm is pushed upward to create even more room. The pelvic floor adapts to support more weight than ever before. After birth, these changes cannot be reversed overnight. They require individualised, gradual care, and traditional postnatal yoga classes and recovery programs do not always offer that level of specificity. The Nurture program at Yogic By Nature is designed specifically for both stages of the mum-to-be’s journey (prenatal yoga from month 1 to the last month of pregnancy and postnatal recovery). Each session is conducted one-to-one using the intake form completed during the initial session, and the program evolves as you progress through each stage of recovery. All sessions are provided online, allowing women living in any part of the UK, India or any other country to participate in this unique program of support and care.

Your Body, Your History, Your Recovery

Your body is not treated using a standard rehabilitation protocol that was designed for a person with a completely different body and a completely different history. Instead, your body will be treated according to how it is right now, in this moment, with the pain that it is currently carrying…and according to how long it has been carrying it. The Restore Program uses yoga therapy to treat women's chronic pain and support injury recovery for women between the ages of 25 and 55. The majority of the conditions that our team works with are those that most standard yoga sessions do not help heal. These consist of the following: The third trimester is about preparing the nervous system for labour through specific breath work (i.e., developing capacity to handle discomfort).
  • Back or neck pain  that has returned since physical therapy ended
  • Unexplained pelvic pain
  • Fibromyalgia or other chronic pain conditions
  •  Endometriosis-related pain
  • Pain related to hormonal imbalance
  • Post-childbirth joint pain
  • Movement limitations that remain after an injury, despite the tissues having healed
  • Caesarean scar pain

The Restore Program targets the compensatory patterns created by the body to protect itself and gradually increases your overall strength and mobility without asking anything of your body that it is currently unable to provide due to the conditions you are working to heal.

Why Restore Is Different?

Restore's sessions are one-to-one and delivered online, with a comprehensive intake assessment before you begin. You will work with your practitioner to map out your pain history, identify compensation patterns, and develop a program that works with your body rather than against it. This is not a set of few classes delivered over a fixed period with a predetermined outcome. Instead, the program progresses at your body's pace, adapts as your body changes, and remains unique to you, no matter where you are located in the UK, India, or anywhere else in the world.
What is the difference between physiotherapy and Restore?
Restore focuses on how an injury impacts you physically, whereas physiotherapy often focuses on the area of injury. Injured people can suffer long-term effects because of the way they have reorganised their body due to pain. Pain causes people to change their posture, the way they move, and the way they use their muscles. Physiotherapy does not always address the full impact of that reorganisation. Restore supports an injured woman's physical body, using tools such as breathwork, helping her cope with it better.
Does the Restore Program Address Pain Without a Diagnosis?
Yes, this is a common reason why women seek assistance from us. Women present with complaints of pain that cannot be fully identified or explained through current investigations and may not have a clear diagnosis.
I suffered an injury a long time ago and haven’t been able to get back to normal. Do I have any hope?
Yes. The ability of the body to heal is not limited to the immediate period after an injury. Usually, when there is no full recovery, the body develops a compensatory pattern and “stays” in it due to insufficient interruption. Restore focuses on working with and addressing those habits. Many women have reported that using yoga, particularly developed to target their old injury, has had more positive results than general exercise over the years.
